The article “A Home is not A House” appeared in “Art in America” in April 1965. Reyner Banham wrote this article while on a Graham Foundation fellowship to study the role of mechanical techniques in the development of modern architecture. It is a kind of fantasy, foreshadowing future works such as The Architecture of the Well-Tempered Environment [1969].
